Ingredients

For the Steak Frites

  • 1 package Heinen’s frozen shoestring French fries
  • 2 Heinen’s CARE Certified boneless ribeye steaks, at room temperature
  • 1 Tbsp. coarse salt
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. Heinen’s extra virgin olive oil

For the Chimichurri Sauce

  • 1 cup fresh parsley, minced
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, minced
  • 1/2 cup Heinen’s extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. Heinen’s red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp. Heinen’s onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Heinen’s oregano
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425ºF. Line a baking tray with parchment paper or foil. Spread Heinen’s frozen shoestring French fries on the baking sheet and bake according to the package directions.
  2. Pat Heinen’s CARE Certified boneless ribeye steaks dry. Season both sides with coarse salt and black pepper.
  3. Heat a large cast iron pan over medium-high heat. Allow the pan to heat for at least 3-4 minutes. Add 2 tablespoons of Heinen’s extra virgin olive oil and the ribeye steaks to the pan and sear for 2-3 minutes per side, or until a crust is formed, and the steak is done to your liking. See below for a temperature guide.
  4. Remove the steaks from the pan and allow them to rest for at least 10 minutes.
  5. While the steak is resting, combine the chimichurri sauce ingredients in a small bowl. Stir well.
  6. Slice the steak and top with chimichurri sauce. Serve with the baked French fries.

Temperature Guide:

  • Rare: 120°-129°F
  • Medium Rare: 130°-139°F
  • Medium: 140°-149°F
  • Medium Well: 150°-159°F
  • Well Done: 160°F

Use a meat thermometer for the best results.
