There are many debates in the foodie world, but few are more commonly comtemplated than the best way to prepare bacon.

Those that cook this savory treat often likely have a favorite method, but at the end of the day, there is no right answer, only options for you to pick from.

Out of all the ways to cook bacon, two fan-favorites are over the stovetop and in the oven, so grab a cast iron skillet and sheet tray and let’s brng home the bacon!

Kitchen Tip: How to Cook Bacon Two Ways

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Heinen's CARE Certified bacon

Instructions

Stovetop Method

  1. Lay a few pieces of bacon flat in a cast iron skillet, ensuring that they do not overlap.
  2. Cook over low-to-medium heat for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Flip and cook for 1 more minute.
  4. Flip again and cook for 1-2 more minutes, or until browned and crisp.
  5. Transfer to paper towels to drain.
  6. Repeat until all of the bacon is cooked.
  7. Serve.

Oven Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lay the bacon flat, ensuring the pieces do not overlap. Use two sheet trays if more room is needed.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until browned and crisp.
  4. Transfer to paper towels to drain.
  5. Serve.Bacon
