Ingredients

  • 1 cup Heinen's rolled oats
  • 1 ripe banana, mashed
  • 1 cup dairy or plant-based milk
  • 2 Tbsp. Sapota (Chikoo) powder
  • 1-2 Tbsp. chia seeds or ground flaxseeds
  • Heinen's sliced almonds (or any preferred toppings)

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the milk of your choice and Sapota (Chikoo) powder. Blend until smooth.
  2. In a bowl or jar, mix the rolled oats, mashed banana, Sapota (Chikoo) powder-milk blend, and chia seeds or ground flaxseeds. Ensure all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  3. Cover the bowl or jar and refrigerate overnight or for at least 4 hours to allow the oats to soften and the flavors to meld without added sugar.
  4. Before serving, give the overnight oats a good stir.
  5. Top with sliced almonds or any other toppings you prefer.

In 1929, Joe Heinen opened the doors of a small butcher shop on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio, aiming to establish himself as the city’s purveyor of quality meats. As customers came into Heinen’s new shop for their meat purchases, they began asking him to carry groceries as well.
