Heinen’s Product Recall Policy & Active Recall List

At Heinen’s, the health and safety of our customers is of the highest priority. As part of our commitment to food safety, we strive to provide access to accurate information regarding product recalls.

The information listed here is intended to provide notification to our customers regarding recalls of potentially hazardous products that may have been sold in our stores. This is not a complete listing of all manufacturer recalls.

When we are notified we are impacted by a manufacturer’s recall, we immediately remove these products from sale in our stores.

If you have purchased an item from Heinen’s that has been recalled, please follow these steps:

  • Check the product code, lot number, size, purchase or use by dates, and/or packaging to confirm whether your purchase is part of the recall.
  • Customers who have purchased recalled product(s) should discard the specific product(s) or return them to your location Heinen’s for a full refund.
  • Customers who have questions about the recalls listed below can contact:

07-3-243CT CHIPWICH ORIGINAL Totally Cool, Inc. of Owings Mills, Maryland is recalling multiple brands of ice cream products, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women. No illnesses have been reported to date.

Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women. No illnesses have been reported to date.Consumers who have recalled product in their possession are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. 07-3-2416 OZ DOLCEZZA GELATO "During a routine FDA inspection of our 3rd party co-manufacturing facility in Baltimore, MD, the FDA detected Listeria monocytogenes on one piece of equipment used to make ice cream cakes for a separate company. There was no contamination detected on the production line or the equipment used to make our pints of gelato for grocery stores, and all tests done on our pints of gelato have come back negative, but out of an abundance of caution, we are formally recalling all gelato pints produced at the co-manufacturing facility, all of which are listed below. No confirmed illness have been reported at this time from consumption of any of these products, but we are taking this precautionary measure in cooperation with FDA and to ensure our consumer’s safety."
